Utilizing parametric design, “Ridge”explores the possibilities of simple materials and joining techniques as its main design concept. As people walk, pause, and linger on the bridge, the massing transforms and incorporates features such as handrails, passages, and benches.
The completed surface of the concrete pathway utilizes bamboo as the formwork, leaving the texture of bamboo. The undulating bamboo skin is supported by an internal wooden frame, allowing for easy variations of the outer curves by adjusting the shape of the wooden frame. “Ridge” maximizes the sense of place and aesthetics while operating within a low-cost and low-skill framework, using parametric techniques.

利用参数化设计的优势，探索简单的材料和拼接方式的可能性，是“漫竹”乡间小桥的主要设计理念。人在桥上漫步，驻足，停留。拆分人的每个行为瞬间，建筑体块随着不同的行为活动变幻形态，利用流动的曲面将栏杆，通道，长椅等功能包含连结，形成一个流畅的主体，一气呵成。
“漫竹”小桥主要由三个部分组成：两个波浪形的竹表皮体块以远山的曲线为灵感，轻巧灵动，卧于水面之上。桥体远观浑然一体，营造场所感。混凝土走道灌注时利用竹子作为模具，虽不见竹，表面却带有其肌理，与曲面表皮形成对话。条状竹表皮由内部的木框结构支撑，通过控制木框的形状可以轻松变换外部的曲线。天然可持续材料的运用，减少对场地内自然环境的影响。“漫竹”意在低造价，低营造技能的框架下，利用参数化最大程度的实现场所感与美感。
